£185.00

First edition, first printing. Published by Brockhampton Press in Leicester, 1965. This is a very goode copy. The dust wrapper, designed by Leslie Stead is slightly sunned at the spine and creased at the top edge. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 8/6 net price. The rear panel is slightly rubbed also. The boards, in the publisher’s cloth, are free from notable chips and marks – endpaper neatly clipped. The internals are free from foxing, toning and previous owners ink. Comes complete with the W E Johns pre-printed letter, titled ‘A letter to every boy who reads this book…’. The text blocks are mostly clean, though foxed and with some marking. Overall, this is a very good copy.
Biggles is asked by Brigadier Mander, to investigate the disappearance of his son, Adrian Mander. Adrian has set off in his aeroplane to the Sahara to find the tomb of King Ras Tenazza. He has gone with a person named Hassan Sekunder, whom the Brigadier suspects is not to be trusted. Biggles gets permission to go and find Adrian, with Ginger and Bertie, as the Brigadier will finance the expedition.
