£135.00

First edition, first printing. Published by Brockhampton Press in Leicester, 1963. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper, designed by Leslie Stead, has some wear at the corners and some handling marks particularly at the spine. The top and bottom edges are creased, but marginally so. It has not been price clipped, showing the correct price of 8/6 net at the tail end of the flap. The boards are near fine in the original green cloth, with some mild bumping to the spine tips. The text blocks are immaculate to the side and bottom edge, but very sparsely marked at the top – small loss to the foot of the front free endpaper. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in near fine condition.
Biggles is asked by Rod Macaster to help him with problems on the Scottish Island of Tola. Macaster, a man of some means, has leased the island from the British Government and plans to re-populate the apparently deserted island. Strange goings on have lead him to the police…
