A first edition, first printing of Biggles Foreign Legionnaire by Captain W.E. Johns, published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1954. A near fine book inscribed by a previous owner in blue ink to the front free end paper, lightly shelf-cocked boards bound in publisher’s original red cloth with black titling to spine and similarly to front board with graphic desert illustration, slight fading to head and foot of spine, the browning text block with some minor spotting, spotting to prelims and ghosting to front free end paper. In a near fine price clipped wrapper, erosion to head of spine, chipping to foot of spine and knuckles of front and rear flap folds, some light browning and handling wear.

Biggles Foreign Legion by W.E. Johns follows the adventures of Captain James Bigglesworth, known as Biggles, as he infiltrates the French Foreign Legion to rescue a British agent captured by a notorious gang. Set in the North African desert, Biggles and his comrades face treacherous conditions, hostile enemies and the harsh discipline of the Legion. The novel blends action, espionage and camaraderie, showcasing Biggles’ bravery, resourcefulness and commitment to duty.
