A first edition, first printing of The Little Old Engine by The Rev. W. Awdry, published by Edmund Ward, London in 1959, illustrated by John T. Kenney. A very good book without inscriptions, fading to the foot of the spine, toning to the text block, light shelf wear to the front and rear panels and one spot stain to front free end paper. In a very good unclipped wrapper with chipping to the spine tips, chipping to the knuckles of front and rear flap folds, fading and creasing to the spine, open tear to the upper edge of front panel and closed tears to the upper and lower edges of rear panel.
