A first edition, first printing of Percy the Small Engine by The Rev. W. Awdry, published by Edmund Ward, London in 1956, illustrations by C. Reginald Dalby. A very good copy with the name of a former owner in blue ink to verso of front free end paper, fading to the top edge of front board, bumping to head of the spine, address stamp to front free end paper and spotting to the top edge of text block. In a very good price clipped wrapper with chipping to the spine tips and knuckles of front and rear flap folds, chipping and closed tears to upper and lower edge of front panel, similarly closed tears to the edges of the rear panel, chipping to upper edge of rear flap fold, rear panel lightly rub-worn.
