First edition, first printing. Published by Hamish Hamilton in London, 1977. This is a near fine copy. The paper covered boards are with slight surface scratches and light traces of adhesive. The corners are typically bumped and there is very minor separation at the top of the spine. The front board is very slightly separated from the binding, as visible in between the front pastedown and flyleaf. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in near fine condition.
Follows one day in the life of the title character, a working class Bogeyman with the mundane job of scaring human beings. The character and all related properties are now owned by Vivendi’s Studiocanal
