Michele Prisco – Heirs of the Wind – First Edition 1953
£95.00
A first edition, first printing, published by Verschoyle in 1953. A near fine book in general good condition with internals free from inscriptions, the text block with slight spotting, with some bumping to the foot and head of the spine. In a near fine price clipped wrapper with some internal spotting, and some light chipping to the head and foot of the spine and corners, the front panel lower right corner missing and internal tape restoration to tear in the base of the spine, with tear to the top of the rear panel.
Heirs of the Wind is a thought-provoking novel set in Naples, Italy, during the 16th century. The story follows the journey of a young nobleman, Ettore Carafa, as he grapples with faith, reason, and the tumultuous political landscape of his time. Prisco masterfully intertwines historical events with philosophical musings, creating a compelling narrative that explores the clash between tradition and progress. Through vivid imagery and nuanced characters, the novel offers profound insights into human nature and the quest for truth.
