Margery Allingham – The Beckoning Lady – First Edition 1955
£75.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Chatto & Windus in London, 1955. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper has some creasing throughout both panels, with an area of separation at the rear, measuring 25mm. There has been some mild restorative work throughout, as evidenced on the verso of the wrapper. The top and tail of the spine remains bumped. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 11s 6d net price. The boards are browned at the bottom edge and bumped at the corners. There is one square-shaped outline to the front board, marked in black, which is also visible on the rear. The text blocks are toned throughout. This copy is free from previous owner’s ink and is in very good condition.
The fifteenth novel in the Albert Campion series. Allingham at her best.
