A first edition, first printing of William and the Witch by Richmal Crompton, published by Newnes in 1964. An good book in original publisher’s green cloth boards with gilt title to the front board and similarly with illustration to the spine, slight pushing to the head and foot of the spine and corners, the text blocks spotted and mild spotting to front and rear free end papers, minor damp-staining to front and rear paste-downs. The good unclipped wrapper with some fading to the spine, bumping to the upper edge of front and rear panel, chipping to the spine tips and knuckles of the front and rear flap folds, internally repaired open tear to the lower edge of front panel, similarly to the head and foot of the spine.
