A first edition, first printing published by John Murray in 1940. A good book without inscriptions. Off-setting to the endpapers, with some fairly heavy spotting to the first few pages. Generally internally clean. Fading to the boards, spotting to the spine and stains to the rear board. In a near fine, supplied dust wrapper. Small pin hole to the front panel and small stain to the rear panel knuckle. Neat crease to the spine.

The novel explores themes of resilience and hope amidst adversity. Set in a dystopian future where society faces collapse, the novel follows Noah, a young boy determined to survive in a harsh world plagued by environmental disasters. Through Noah’s journey, Tozer crafts a poignant narrative about the human spirit’s ability to endure, adapt, and find light even in the darkest of times, offering a compelling reflection on our relationship with nature and each other.
