Josephine Bell – Total War At Haverington – First Edition 1945
£50.00
A first edition, first printing, published by Longmans in 1945. A very good book with internals free from inscriptions, some browning and spotting to the text block, with front board and rear panel in general good condition with some spotting to half title and title page and minor pushing to foot of the spine. In a very good unclipped dust wrapper, some fading to the spine, with internal browning and spotting, chips to the head and foot of the spine and some minor chips to the knuckle of the front and rear flap folds.
Total War at Haverington is a gripping tale set during World War II, portraying the resilience and courage of civilians amidst the chaos of conflict. In the English village of Haverington, ordinary people must confront extraordinary challenges as they navigate air raids, rationing and the spectre of loss. Against this backdrop, Bell weaves a narrative of love, sacrifice and community spirit, illustrating the indomitable human spirit in the face of adversity.
