A first edition, first printing of The Overloaded Ark by Gerald Durrell, published by Faber and Faber, London in 1953. A very good book signed by a previous owner in black ink to the front free end paper, fading to the spine tips and slight staining to extremities of green cloth bound boards, minor handling wear to boards, with toning and spotting to the text blocks, offsetting to front and rear end papers, a previous retailers label to verso of front board. In a very good unclipped wrapper with open tears to the spine tips and knuckles of front and rear flap folds, small closed tears to upper and lower edge of rear panel and some browning throughout.
