A first edition, first printing published by Longmans in 1935. A very good book with light fading to the spine, some spotting to the page edges and to the prelims. In a dust wrapper with a stain and repair to the foot of the spine which is browned. Very small blue spot to the front panel and some light wear to the edges. Waugh was an English writer of novels, biographies and travel books; he was also a prolific journalist and book reviewer.
