A first edition, first printing published by Hutchinson in 1965. A near fine book with a small previous owner’s inscription and date to the rear of the front end paper, with grey top stain to the text block and with some minor spotting to the fore edge and bottom edge. In a very good unclipped wrapper with a little rubbing to the spine tips and to the corners and top edge of front panel, a crease to the lower corner of the rear flap, with some minor internal spotting.

Taken Care Of is a poetic exploration of the human condition, weaving together themes of love, loss and mortality. Sitwell’s evocative language and vivid imagery create a rich tapestry of emotions, inviting readers to contemplate the complexities of existence. Through her unique voice and distinctive style, Sitwell captures the essence of life’s fleeting moments and the profound impact of human connections. The collection resonates with depth and beauty, offering solace and introspection to those who delve into its verses.

The introduction to the book (published a year after Sitwell’s death) states, ‘I have attacked nobody, unless they attacked me first….’
