£45.00

A first edition, first printing published by Collins Crime Club in 1972. A near fine book with one neat gift inscription to the front free end paper which reads “To Vee, for Christmas 1972. Love Bill”. Some slight bumping to the head and base of the spine.
Slight spotting to the text block and offsetting to the front and rear free end papers, however, clean internally. In a like clipped wrapper with some read wear to the rear panel.
Featuring the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, and the recurring character Ariadne Oliver, the story revolves around memory and oral testimony. The novel was met with mixed reviews when published and a study done in 2009 indicated that Christie may have been suffering from some form of dementia when writing the book due to the number of repeated phrases and indefinite nouns it contained.
