Lawrence Whistler (1912–2000) was a British glass engraver, poet and artist, best known for reviving the craft of copper-wheel engraving on glass in the twentieth century. Younger brother of the artist Rex Whistler, he developed a distinctive style combining calligraphy, landscapes and commemorative inscriptions. His works include memorial windows and engraved panels in churches, cathedrals and public buildings across Britain. Whistler also wrote poetry and books about glass engraving, helping preserve and promote the traditional craft.
