A set of first edition, first printings of ‘The Second World War’ published by Cassell between 1948-1954. All are in near fine condition in near fine (or better) dust wrappers. None are price clipped – lightly spine browned as is usual with this title. Light wear to the spine of the dust wrappers some light internal repair. Volume 1 has a few spots to the spine of the wrapper.

“It was wholly appropriate that in 1953 Churchill was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature” (Keegan). Named by Modern Library as one of the 100 best non-fiction books of the twentieth century. It placed number one on the 100 best non-fiction books of the twentieth century by National Review magazine. A superb set, rarely found in this condition.
