Titov and Gagarin – Russian Astronaut Photograph – SIGNED by both Titov and Gagarin
£850.00
An original photographic black and white shot of six Russian astronauts – including Gherman Titov and Yuri and Gagarin – below this, both Gagarin and Titov have signed their names. Measures 30cm x 30cms. Now framed and mounted. Rare
Yuri Gagarin and Gherman Titov were pioneering Soviet cosmonauts who marked early milestones in human space flight. Gagarin became the first human in space on 12 April 1961 aboard Vostok 1, completing an orbit of Earth and instantly becoming an international icon and hero of the Soviet Union. Titov followed as the second human to orbit Earth on Vostok 2 in August 1961, spending more than a day in space and becoming the youngest person to fly in orbit. Their flights demonstrated the feasibility of human space travel and intensified the Space Race between superpowers at the time of the era.
