A set of first edition, first printings published by James R. Osgood, McIlvaine and Co. in 1891. Complete volumes 1-3. In the original brown publisher’s gilt tooled cloth binding as required with fading to the titles as is common. The title pages and explanatory note (volume 1)/front fly leaves (volumes 2 & 3) with ownership stamp for ‘F. Trollope, Manor House, Upper Long Ditton’, the title pages also ink inscribed ‘Florence Trollope’ and dated September 1892. Some shadowing to the front panels of two of the books. Rubbing and wear to the corners of the books. First issue with ‘road’ for ‘load’ on page 198 of volume 3. A good to very good set with usual reading marks.
