Description
A first edition, first printing of ‘The Carpet People’ published by Colin Smythe in 1976. A near fine book in gently edgeworn near fine clipped wrapper in the original duraseal protector as issued.
Terry Pratchett’s debut novel, a fantasy adventure set in a microscopic world within a carpet. It follows the journey of young Snibril and his tribe, the Munrungs, as they battle the destructive Fray and the tyrannical Mouls. Blending humour, satire, and imaginative world-building, Pratchett explores themes of resilience, leadership, and change. The novel, originally written when Pratchett was 17, was later revised with his mature writing style. It showcases early glimpses of his wit and storytelling genius, making it a charming read for both young and adult fantasy fans.
