Mr Austin Blomfield M.A. A.R.I.B.A. – typed and the autograph signed in black ink, with some bleeding to the ink, on ivory writing paper with central horizontal fold, three vertical folds, two remnant spots of adhesive to verso.

Sir Reginald Blomfield (1856-1942) was a distinguished British architect, garden designer and author, best known for his contributions to the Edwardian classical style and for designing several important war memorials after the First World War. Among his most notable works is the Menin Gate in Ypres. A prolific writer and influential public figure, Blomfield helped shape early twentieth-century British architecture through both his buildings and his published ideas on design and planning. He died aged 86 on 27 December 1942 and is buried in the family plot in the churchyard of St Michael, Playden, East Sussex, half a mile north of his country home Point Hill, Rye.
