A first edition, first printing of ‘The Witches’ by Roald Dahl published by Cape in 1983. A very good book in like unclipped wrapper with a little staining to the spine tips and nicking – very bright spine. A little wear to the corners.
In 1983, the year it was published, The Witches won three awards. They were; The New York Times Outstanding Books Award, The Federation of Children’s Book Groups Award and The Whitbread Award. A film version of the story was released in 1990, and another in 2020 starring Anne Hathaway, Chris Rock and Octavia Spencer.
