A first edition, first printing of The BFG by Roald Dahl, published by Cape in 1982. A near fine copy free from internal inscriptions, the boards bound in publisher’s original grey cloth with gilt titling to the spine, some pushing to the head and foot of the spine, pushing to the upper corners, minor bumping to upper edge of rear panel, the text blocks slightly toned. Rough patch to the head of the front endpaper. The unclipped wrapper with creasing to the end-flaps and top edge, as well as the bottom edges of the wrapper.

The BFG by Roald Dahl is a whimsical children’s novel about a young orphan girl named Sophie who befriends the Big Friendly Giant (BFG). Unlike other giants who eat humans, the BFG is gentle and kind, catching dreams to spread to children. Together, Sophie and the BFG devise a plan to stop the other giants from terrorising the world; their adventure leads them to the Queen of England, who helps them save the day. The story is filled with imaginative language and heart-warming moments.
