A first edition, first printing published by Michael Joseph in 1950. A near fine book without inscriptions. Some fading to the edges and spine. Slight pulling can be seen on the cloth covered rear board. Binding is a little skewed. Offsetting to the endpapers, however, clean internally. In a good, clipped wrapper with illustrations famously completed by John Minton. Some slight loss to the head of the spine and wear to the edges and corners.
