A first edition, first printing of ‘The Snowman’ published by Hamish Hamilton in 1978. A very good copy with browning to the edges – without inscriptions. Accompanied by a first day covers from Christmas 1990 – SIGNED in full by Raymond Briggs, along with an original Snowman greeting card.
The runner-up for the Kate Greenaway Medal from the Library Association, recognising the year’s best children’s book illustration by a British writer. In the United States, it was named to the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award list in 1979. The Snowman remains one of the best loved children’s books of all time and was made into a successful television symphonic animation in 1982.
