£1,950.00

First edition, first printing. Published by Gollancz in London, 1963. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper, with the bold J.B. Priestley review to the front panel, is markedly unfaded at the spine. There are very slight areas of wear at the corners and spine tips and it has not been price clipped, showing the original 18/- net price. The boards, in publisher’s blue buckram, are with one small spot to the top right-hand of the front panel. The gilting at the spine is intact and bright. The text blocks are very slightly toned and with some very sparse spots of foxing. The internals are clean and free from foxing, toning or previous owner’s inscriptions. Overall, this is a markedly bright copy of a classic espionage novel.

One of the best examples we have held to this date.
