John Betjeman – Ghastly Good Taste (or a depressing story of the rise and fall of English Architecture) – First UK Edition 1933
£175.00
A first edition, first printing published by Chapman and Hall in 1933. A very good book with one neat and warm gift inscription which reads “Mary N Grieve. July 1933. On completing college & getting a job.” Some light staining to the boards, front free end papers and flyleaf. Some handling marks with bumping to the corners. The spine shows slight fading and rubbing to the tips. The folding illustration by Fleetwood-Hesketh is intact and bright. Loosely inserted are several associated newspaper reviews and articles ranging from 1933 to 1984.
