First edition, first printing. Published by Hamish Hamilton in London, 1971. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper is illustrated by Peggy Fortnum. The top and bottom edges are curling and slightly rubbed at the corners. There is a small spot of, what appears to be card stuck to the front panel. It has not been price clipped, but the front panel has a flattened crease. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are mostly free from foxing. This copy is free from previous owners ink, however there is a large stain to the front flyleaf which casts this from a near fine copy. Overall, this is a very good copy of a nice title.
Enter the weird and wonderful world of Lucy’s seaside childhood. Meet Aunt Fanny, Auntie Bea and Aunt Kitty. Discover Jinni Love’s Fair Days, nanny-nuns, akkerbeests, polycarps and queeds. Marvel at the tales of Mr Crossley’s wig, the great ship, the magus Zoroaster and the beast in the mire.
