A first edition, first printing of the first paperback edition published by George Allen and Unwin in 1968 – the first complete collection of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ – Containing the trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring / The Two Towers / The Return of the King and preceding the Deluxe Edition of 1969. This, a beautifully clean copy, without inscriptions, marks etc. The spine, so often faded – is not. Some light tape bleeds to the endpapers and the spine is concaved, with some rubbing to the corners. Precedes the 1969 Deluxe edition.
