J.P. Martin – Uncle – First Edition 1964
£245.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Jonathan Cape in London, 1964. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper, finely illustrated by one Quentin Blake, has some bumping at the spine tips and corners. The top and bottom edges are slightly toned and curled and it has been price clipped, but retains the original 16s price. The flaps are slightly foxed. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are mostly clean, though with some instances of marking. It is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in near fine condition.
Uncle is a millionaire elephant who has a B.A. and wears a purple dressing gown. The first of six Uncle stories.
