– numberline reads ‘468C975’. SIGNED on the title by Gary Stevens (who portrayed the jockey in the 2003 film).
Gary Stevens was a famous jockey who portrayed the role of Seabiscuit’s jockey, George Woolf, in the 2003 film Seabiscuit, but he never rode the real Seabiscuit in a professional race. Seabiscuit raced in the 1930s and 1940s, decades before Stevens’ career began. The real Seabiscuit’s main jockey was the Canadian Red Pollard. When Pollard was injured, his friend, fellow Hall of Fame jockey George Woolf, took over the mount, most notably for the legendary 1938 match race against War Admiral, which Seabiscuit won.
