It follows British secret agent James Bond as he investigates the mysterious and wealthy Auric Goldfinger, suspected of gold smuggling. Bond uncovers a sinister plot called “Operation Grand Slam,” in which Goldfinger plans to contaminate the U.S. gold reserve at Fort Knox. The novel blends espionage, action, and suspense, showcasing Bond’s wit and resilience against a cunning, gold-obsessed villain.
