Ian Fleming – Goldfinger – First UK Edition 1959 – A FINE COPY
£2,500.00
A first edition, first printing of ‘Goldfinger’ published by Cape in 1959. A fine book without inscriptions in a near fine unclipped wrapper with a little rubbing here and there but absolutely no browning to the spine as is usually the case – small patch of spotting to the rear panel – some wear to the corners. Now housed in a custom made solander box. A superb copy.
‘Goldfinger’ by Ian Fleming is the seventh James Bond novel, published in 1959. It follows British secret agent James Bond as he investigates the mysterious and wealthy Auric Goldfinger, suspected of gold smuggling. Bond uncovers a sinister plot called “Operation Grand Slam,” in which Goldfinger plans to contaminate the U.S. gold reserve at Fort Knox. The novel blends espionage, action, and suspense, showcasing Bond’s wit and resilience against a cunning, gold-obsessed villain.
A lovely example of the first edition
