Helen Simpson – The Woman On The Beast – First Edition 1953 – with wraparound band
£225.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Heinemann in London, 1953. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper is finely illustrated with a simple emblem, foil foliage and a bold title. The wraparound band is also foiled in silver and black and red lettering. It is unfaded but with some very minor handling marks on the rear. The dust wrapper has been neatly price clipped. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and highly presentable throughout. The text blocks are free from foxing and the internals are free from previous owners ink. Overall, this is a very near fine copy of a scarce title.
Consists of a prologue, three books and an epilogue. The three books have no connection with each other; in reality they form three separate short novels with the common basis that the most hateful things may be done for apparently the best of reasons.
