A very good book with a small name and date to the front endpaper in a very good unclipped wrapper with some light wear and creasing to the spine foot and corners and a neat closed tear to the front panel. SIGNED to the title page by Kurt Diemberger.
Kurt Diemberger is an Austrian mountaineer closely associated with the legend of the Eiger’s north face, known as ‚’The White Spider’. Though Heinrich Harrer made the face famous in his book, Diemberger later climbed the Eiger himself and wrote vividly about its dangers and history. A survivor of major Himalayan tragedies, Diemberger represents the reflective, storytelling tradition of post-war alpinism, blending extreme experience with literary insight.
