A first edition, first printing published by Cape in 1926.Original maroon cloth, spine panel stamped in gold, bottom edge untrimmed. The authors’ second book and first published novel.Softening of the spine tips and a touch of foxing to the top edge otherwise a near fine copy. The wrapper is also in near fine condition with a vertical crease along the full length of the spine and a touch of creasing at the spine tips.A lovely, bright and crisp copy.Unusually the wrapper has not had the small clips to all 4 corners and is½ cm too tall for the book. One can only surmise that this is perhaps a proof dust wrapper of some sort.Clearly it has been folded in half at some stage and stored separately as it is really, bright and crisp.Signed by the author on the half-title.A superior copy of a book usually found to be in less than collectable condition. Very nice indeed. One of 1500 copies.
