A first edition, first printing, published by Weidenfield and Nicolson in 1950. A very good book with previous owner’s inscription and date on the front free end paper in black ink, browning to the the text block, with very slight bumping to the head and foot of the spine and fading to the title on the spine. In a very good unclipped dust wrapper with some chips to knuckles of front and rear upper and lower panel folds, pushing to the head and base of the spine, some small puncture holes on the front flap, spine and rear panel. The dust wrapper executed beautifully by John Minton.
