£2,250.00

First editions, first printings. Published by Herbert Jenkins, Barrie & Jenkins and Collins Harvill in 1969 to 2005 respectively. This is a near fine set. As the condition of each title is markedly similar, they shall be described as a whole unless there are issue points to note. Each dust wrapper has some very slight shelf wear present, with some instances of slight sunning and chipping, particularly on ‘Flashman in the Great Game’ and ‘Flashman’s Lady’. Only two copies are price clipped, these being ‘Flashman at the Charge’ and ‘Flashman and the Dragon’, with the remaining titles showing their ‘25s’, ‘30/-’, ‘£1.75’, ‘£3.95’, ‘£4.50’, ‘£7.95’, ‘£13.95’, ‘£15.99’, ‘£16.99’ and ‘£17.99’ prices respectively. The text blocks are all pristine and free from foxing. Each copy has a slip, often on ‘From George MacDonald Fraser, Balderine, Isle of Man’ paper, with ‘Many thanks’ written in the hand of the author. Seven of these slips are handsigned ‘George F’ or ‘George Fraser’. ‘Royal Flash’ has a medium previous owner’s inscription on the preliminary, and ‘Flashman at the Charge’ has residue from what is presumably an Ex-Libris label. Overall, this is a near fine set with solid provenance from a book dealer in Fraser’s locality. A must-have for a fan of ‘Flashman’ and Fraser.

A series of twelve titles, centring around the exploits of protagonist Flashman.
