A first edition, first printing published by John Murray in 1950. A near fine book without inscriptions with some foxing to the page edges, seeping a little into the pages. In a very good+ clipped wrapper which has a nick to the head of the spine and some wear to the spine tips and corners. SIGNED by way of a bookplate to the front pastedown. One or two nicks here and there. Complete with the rare original wrap-around band declaring the book to be the “Winner of The Heinemann Foundation Prize.Scarce with the band.
