Eugene Cernan and Don Davis – The Last Man on the Moon – First Edition 2000 – SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Cernan
£375.00
A first edition, first printing of this softcover of ‘The Last Man on the Moon’ published by St. Martin’s Griffin in 2000. A near fine book INSCRIBED on the title page, ‘To Leonard – enjoy the voyage to the space…Gene Cernan’. Corners a touch rubbed.
Eugene Cernan was an American astronaut and naval aviator, best known as the last person to walk on the moon (the clue’s in the title). Born in 1934, Cernan joined NASA in 1963 and flew on three space missions: Gemini 9A, Apollo 10, and Apollo 17. As the commander of Apollo 17 in 1972, he left the final human footprints on the lunar surface, famously saying, “We shall return.” Cernan was a skilled pilot and space-walker, contributing significantly to lunar exploration.
