A first edition, first printing, published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1944. A very good book with previous owner’s gift inscription to the half title page. Beautiful unfaded spine. A little fading to the bottom of the board edge. In the very good unclipped wrapper with a patch of rubbing to the foot of the spine affecting the ‘gh’ in Stoughton. Some internal archival strengthening to the front and spine hinges. Small chip to the top of the rear panel and a little light loss to the corners and spine corners. Some wrinkling to the rear panel and rear flap.
By far the rarest Famous Five book.
