A first edition, first printing of Wind in the Wires’ published by Hurst and Blackett, Ltd in 1933. A very good book with a previous bookseller’s stamp to the front endpaper. In a good dust wrapper with internal strengthening with a large chip to the head of the spine and a small one to the bottom. Closed tear repaired. Corner loss and some edge wear. Exceptionally scarce in the original dust wrapper

A vivid memoir of early aviation, recounting his experiences as a First World War pilot. Blending technical insight with lyrical description, it captures the fragility and exhilaration of flying primitive aircraft in combat. Grinnell-Milne reflects on danger, comradeship, and the romance of flight, offering both historical perspective and a deeply personal account of a pioneering era in aviation.
