Dr Seuss – Green Eggs and Ham – First UK Edition – With Rare Dust Wrapper
£185.00
First UK edition, first printing of Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, published by Collins in London, 1962. This is a very good copy, the paper-covered boards bumped at the corners, with pushing at the head and foot of the spine and handling wear to the upper and lower edges, the internals are generally clean but with previous owners inscription on rear paste-down, the text blocks are bright and clean. The good price-clipped wrapper with chipping and open tear to the knuckle of the front flap fold and similarly chipping to the knuckles of the rear flap fold, open tears to the head and foot of the spine, pushing to the upper and lower edges, with spotting and damp-staining internally.
Sam-I-Am offers an unnamed man a plate of green eggs and ham. However, the man refuses multiple times throughout the story by saying, “I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.”
