Description
A first edition, first printing of ‘Cagingin Skies’ published by John Murray in 2019. A near fine book in like unclipped wrapper.
‘Caging Skies’ (2008) by Christine Leunens is a psychological novel set in World War II Austria, following Johannes “Jo” Betzler, a young boy indoctrinated by Nazi ideology. His world spirals when he hides a Jewish girl, revealing the tension between ideology, innocence, and morality. The story examines guilt, complicity, and the loss of innocence under totalitarianism. The novel inspired the 2019 film ‘Jojo Rabbit’, directed by Taika Waititi, blending dark comedy with poignant historical drama.
