A first edition, first printing published by Macdonald in 1981. A very good book with a previous owner’s name to the head of the front endpaper. In a very good unclipped wrapper with a closed tear to the rear panel with some creasing. Some chipping to the head of the spine. Surprisingly scarce as a UK first edition, given the fact that 50 million copies were sold.
“Cosmos” by Carl Sagan is a groundbreaking science book that explores the wonders of the universe in an engaging and accessible manner. Published in 1980, it accompanies the acclaimed television series of the same name. Sagan, an astrophysicist and science communicator, takes readers on a cosmic journey, delving into topics like the origins of life, the vastness of space, and the interconnectedness of all living things. With poetic prose and a sense of wonder, Sagan encourages readers to contemplate their place in the cosmos, fostering a deep appreciation for science and the beauty of the natural world.
