A first edition, first printing published by Bles in 1954. A very good book without inscriptions with some staining to the front board in a very good neatly clipped wrapper with some light chipping to the spine and corners. A little fading to the spine and some wear to the extremities. A few spots to the rear panel. One small mark to the bottom of the front panel. Increasingly uncommon to find.
The book follows the adventures of Shasta, a young boy raised by a cruel fisherman in the land of Calormen. With the help of a talking horse named Bree, Shasta escapes his life of oppression and embarks on a journey to the magical land of Narnia. Along the way, they encounter various challenges and characters, ultimately becoming embroiled in Narnia’s struggle against an impending invasion. The story explores themes of freedom, courage, and destiny in the world of Narnia.
