James B. Irwin was an American astronaut and Air Force test pilot best known as the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 15 in 1971. He became the eighth person to walk on the Moon and helped drive the Lunar Roving Vehicle during exploration of Hadley–Apennine. After returning to Earth, Irwin retired from NASA, founded a Christian ministry, and led expeditions searching for Noah’s Ark, reflecting his deepened spirituality following the mission and legacy endures today.
