£1,250.00
A large, mounted colour photograph of Bobby Moore and Pele swapping shirts at full time during World Cup 1970. COA from A1 Sporting Memorabilia accompanies the photograph. Measuring 59cm x 84cm in the mount, with the photograph measuring 49cm x 74cm. SIGNED using his full name Edison Pele, which is rare.
This famous photograph shows Pelé and Bobby Moore after Brazil beat England 1–0 at the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. The match was played at the Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara on 7 June 1970. England were the defending world champions, while Brazil had one of the greatest sides ever assembled, including Pelé, Jairzinho, Tostão, Rivellino, Gérson and Carlos Alberto.
The game is remembered for two iconic moments: Gordon Banks’s astonishing save from Pelé’s header, and Jairzinho’s winning goal for Brazil. Brazil went on to win the tournament, defeating Italy 4–1 in the final, and the 1970 Brazil team became legendary.
The photograph captures the moment after the final whistle when Pelé and Moore exchanged shirts. Both men are shirtless, smiling, and embracing warmly. Moore, England’s elegant captain, and Pelé, football’s greatest global star, appear relaxed and full of mutual respect.
