Anthony Burgess – A Clockwork Orange – First UK Edition 1962 – True first issue
£3,500.00
A first edition, first printing published by Heinemann in 1962. A near fine book without inscriptions. Sharp corners – a lovely example of the first issue book with black boards. In a near fine (or better) first issue with 16s and the wide flaps as called for – neatly clipped. Some light nicking and small edgewear. Crease to the head of the rear panel. Some light fading to the spine and wear to the spine tips. Anthony Burgess’ most important novel and a cornerstone of British fiction of the 20th century. Scarce in this fine condition. The basis for the famous Stanley Kubrick cult film of the same name.
