Agatha Christie – The Listerdale Mystery – First Edition 1934
£875.00
A first edition, first printing published by Collins in 1934. A near fine book without inscriptions with fairly heavy spotting to the page edges and some spotting to the prelims and latter pages. First issue with 5 pages of adverts to the rear. No fading to the spine and to the corners and aside from the spotting, a superb example of this title in unusually good condition. The book is a short story collection and did not appear in the US; however, all of the stories contained within it did appear in other collections only published there. Furthermore, the collection is notable for the first book appearance of the story ‘Philomel Cottage’, which was turned into a highly successful play and two feature films, and was also televised twice in the UK.
